GROWING UP REFUGEE
THROUGH A CHILD'S EYE: THE SYRIAN REFUGEE PROJECT

We have seen the chaos and destruction caused by the Syrian revolution on television, but what about the children. A lost generation of children are growing up in Jordan refugee camps. No longer able to go home or have proper education, a detrimental crises is brewing within the Syrian people. Our goal as film makers and researchers, is to head to the second largest refugee camp in the world. Zaatari. Within this tented city we would like to focus on the Syrian refugee children and how through their eyes and words they are coping with the daily pressures of life at camp. We will be heading to the Middle East to work with and interview Syrian refugees about the current struggles they face. These interviews will be used to raise awareness. We feel that the best way to show people the struggles of refugees is to allow them to tell their personal stories in their own words. We will share these stories in a variety of formats, as well with non profit organizations to assist them in their goals.

Through the assistance of refugee organizations at Yale, UNHCR, and UNICEF. We hope to tell a gripping story with the use of Syrian organizations within the camp.

We are a collection of artists, photographers, journalists, filmmakers from a variety of backgrounds and countries. We are a diverse group of people, with all levels of education and experience, yet with the same level of dedication and passion.

So how can you help?
We are still raising money to assist with travel and additional costs. Plus once we have shot all our footage we will have costs for post production and promotional costs.

We have set up this nonprofit funding site on GoFundMe. Though this site you can donate money to our cause. No size is to small. Every dollar helps us get there, film, and build awareness. If interested please follow the link.

The funding will go directly toward production costs. Every cent will be accounted for. Since many of the interactions will be with refugees and people in poor areas, a percentage will go toward directly contributing in some way with those that we interview and photograph. Further, a percentage of the funds will be given to nonprofits and charities that we work with in order to help with their costs.

Are goal is to have this shot and edited and in limited release theaters in time for festival season. Depending on your involvement and financial donation/investment you will have write-off capabilities or Producer credits with return on investment.
