Help replace our 100 year old barn
Donation protected
On Jan. 7th we lost our 100 year old barn. It had been the main building on our 100+ year old farm. My son will be the 5th generation to farm the home farm.
As for the barn it has been a horse and livestock barn from the beginning until 1983 when it was updated and remodeled from the foundation up. It was converted to a pork raising only barn. It was sided with steel in the mid 90's. It was used for that purpose until the mid 90's. Then it used to raise small calves. In the mid 2000's the roof was completely redone. It was such a beautiful building every time I looked at it reminded me about our heritage and what it means to this family. In 2012 it was converted to a processing, seed starting, cold storage. It was completely redone in the inside again with a office and a GAP certifiable processing area.
