The River District Alliance (RDA) is the 501(c)3 merchants organization dedicated to enhancing the social, cultural, and economic qualities of the historic downtown Fort Myers River District.
Organized six years ago, the all volunteer board or directors and committees have worked tirelessly to create widely recognized events and programs that now draw nearly 200,000 visitors to the River District annually. Signature events include Art Walk, Music Walk, Mystery Walk, Car Cruise-In, Bike Night, and all major traditional events including St. Patrick's Day, Fourth of July, and New Year's Eve among others.
As a merchants organization, the board has also begun undertaking more encompassing roles to assist in the future development of the historic downtown while providing greater assistance to our merchant members.
Focussed on leveraging funds to create bigger and better programming for the community, the organization has in the past worked within partnership formats for most aspects of operation, including development of the existing website; www.riverdistrictevents.com. Although many thanks continue to those involved in this site, it's time to move forward with a more comprehensive, user-friendly, and current site. The RDA is currently in the process of developing the future website for the downtown organization that will provide far better use for both visitors and merchants. This site will also have compatability features, tracking, user updates, galleries, and so much more than what exists today!
