Help Save R-Charity Ranch

Donation protected

R-Charity Ranch, a 501(c)(3) non-profit, is in jeopardy and I’m reaching out through this site to get the financial support needed to save it.  R-Charity Ranch was founded in 2014 to provide a free “Dude Ranch " experience for veterans and children with special needs. R-Charity Ranch gives those families a free place for fun and relaxation; a chance to get away from their problems and enjoy family fun.

The Ranch is on 161 acres in East San Diego County and is a special facility for disabled veterans and special needs kids of all ages. A place where can they be in the country, ride horses, interact with farm animals and have fun with their families. The Ranch will be providing experiences for children through the Make-a-Wish Foundation and other nonprofit organizations that grant wishes to children with chronic or life-threatening medical conditions.

R-Charity Ranch needs your help. Monthly expenses are about $8,000 just to keep it open.  Another $100,000 is needed for the first phase of renovations and new facilities to make the Ranch fully operation and provide the fun and therapeutic experience for which it is intended.  Once the renovations are made, the County of San Diego will provide funding to also use the Ranch for Foster Children to stay while they are awaiting permanent placement.  In addition, the R-Charity Ranch is situated on the historic Barrett Ranch. The Barrett Ranch House is on the San Diego Save Our Heritage Organizations Endangered List. Keeping the Ranch operational provides the necessary maintenance to preserve this historic structure and protect it from vandalism.

The Ranch needs at least $20,000 by April 15 to meet back lease payments and immediate expenses.  $200,000 is needed for renovation of the existing main barn/bunk house and classroom building and the remaining 2015 monthly operational expenses.

By generously contributing now to this worthy cause, you can do your part to provide a fun venue for special-needs kids and Veterans, a future place for Foster Children while also helping to preserve San Diego’s architectural heritage.  More information and photos are on the website www.r-charityranch.com.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, contribute and share our campaign!
