Ray Sheeran Field Renovation

Donation protected
SFGG Rugby is raising $50,000 to fund a much needed full field renovation project on 'Ray Sheeran Field*', Treasure Island this June.

* NOTE: The renovation date has been pushed back to the end of September. Please continue to help spread the word as we look to raise funds for this great project.

San Francisco Golden Gate's field is at the heart of San Francisco and Northern California rugby, the fastest growing team sport in the USA, that is credited each day with providing community and instilling positive values in young and old from all backgrounds.

It is the "Field of Dreams" for those girls and boys and young women and men who play rugby in the region.

The field has been home to players who are now on their way to living Olympic dreams and securing professional contracts abroad.

San Francisco Golden Gate has full charitable, non profit status. We host Youth events free of charge, including PRUSA "Developing Youth Through Rugby"and NorCal youth games. It is home to boys & girls youth teams, high school teams and competitive men's and women's team.

After many years of good use and maintenance, it is time for 'Ray Sheeran Field' to under go a full renovation project. This entails a full layer of around 6 - 8 inches of top soil, seeding, fertilizing and watering to esnure maxium return.  We also hope to set aside some of the proceeds to create a 'Field Maintenance Fund' to help assist with the field managment over the next two years, post renovation.

The end result will be a rich green, level, playing surface that will serve the Club and community for many more years to come.

Be a part of this special place - please give generously today.

All donors who commit to $5000 and over will be acknolwedged on a permanent plaque located by the entrance to the field.

*The field is named after one of its original creators and former Head Groundsman; Ray Sheeran. Ray lovingly spent much of his spare time nurturing the green space on TI for a number of years, before he sadly passed prematurely after battling cancer. The field was named after Ray in remembrance of his commitment & dedication to keeping the field in top condition; allowing so many others to enjoy his hard work.
