About the Rambling Minors
Rambling Minors is California's next generation of red hot bluegrass. With members ranging in age from 10 to 13, the band combines virtuosic instrumentals with soulful vocals that belie their young ages. Rambling Minors plays straight ahead bluegrass along with their own unique arrangements of classic bluegrass tunes.
Daisy Kerr, Andrew Osborn, and Miles and Teo Quale met through the Kids on Bluegrass program at the California Bluegrass Association's Father's Day Bluegrass Festival in 2014. Since then, the group has been featured at various venues and events all over the Bay Area including the Northern California Bluegrass Society's Good Ol' Fashioned Bluegrass Festival and Freight and Salvage's Berkeley Bluegrass Festival. They have performed live on radio stations KVMR, KPFA and KKUP and opened for fiddler extraordinaire Michael Cleveland. Recently, Rambling Minors was featured on NPR's The California Report. In 2016, each of them was individually chosen to represent California's Kids on Bluegrass at the annual IBMA World of Bluegrass in Raleigh, North Carolina.
