I am reaching out for help, which is something that is very hard for me to do. My husband and 3 boys are suffering from an incurable kidney disease called Polycystic kidney disease and our middle son also has Ankylosing spondylitis which is incurable. We found out I have it last year. It's a very painful genetic bone disease that destroys our bones and causes daily pain and many life and other health complications. My husband Ty had to stop working almost 5yrs ago. I am not able to work as my job has become being their caregiver. Ty had both kidneys removed in June and they weighed around 50lbs together. He couldn't breathe and had no quality of life any longer so when he was put on a ventilator and his body was shutting down the transplant surgeon said our best option was to do a double nephrectomy. It was done in a hospital over 3 hrs from our home and we were there for almost 2 months. I had to stay in a hotel and I used a microwave the hotel staff was kind enough to let me use to fix food when I could get some, cereal was usually my once a day meal. Prior to this we had been traveling several times a month to the children's hospital and my husband doctors so much that for the last couple of years everything we've had has gone to medical travel and trying to keep the utilities on at home and get groceries. Our family helped out so much everyone has nothing left to help monetarily. We are behind on our property taxes and are in the process of loosing our home. Our only vehicle needs a new engine and I don't know what we are going to do because our van is our ONLY way to dialysis and all the other doctors appts.  Our middle son Troy is the worst health wise out of the kids with his kidneys and the bone disease. Right now he is in too much pain to go to school and even just stand and have a conversation without having to sit because the pain is too much too bare. I'm taking him to the doctor every day Ty has dialysis and then helping him with schoolwork.  He and Jakub worry every day if they will have a home and how we are going to put food on the table or if someone will come to take our vehicle away. They've had to grow up way to soon. They pray each night God will give them one more day with their dad. After Ty's double nephrectomy in June he started dialysis which is/has taken a major toll on his body. We constantly are rushing him to the hospital and each day wonder it this is the time where he doesn't wake up or bounce back enough to push through tomorrow. He isn't eligible to go on the transplant list due to all the damage the PKD did to his body. So he has to have a volunteer donor. I am a match for him, however we need to be more secure financially and know our house is stable and our vehicle is in the condition to make all the trips to the transplant surgeon/hospital and know we are able to keep the electric on etc while we are gone and the kids are taken care of. Last Christmas someone told me about this website and said they wanted to help me by putting something together and that this site and all the wonderful people who help others was my best hope. Unfortunately that person bailed on helping me, however my prayers are that it was a blessing to have met that person if only to have learned about this opportunity to see if we can get help. At the age of 42 my husband lives each moment knowing it may be his last. We watch our children suffering from everything and pray that God will provide. I'm asking from the bottom of our hearts to please pass our story along, if not to help monetarily but to pass awareness about Polycystic kidney disease and Ankylosing spondylitis. If any of you reading this story can help words can not express how grateful Ty and I are. Thank you and God bless you.
