Who am I?
Hi, I’m Lydia — the illustrator and designer behind the Montessori inspired curriculum shop Green Urban Mama .
Why do I care?
I’m passionate about caring for animals and the environment, and most of my materials are based around animals or nature. I want to inspire a passion for the natural world in my children, and I especially want them to develop hearts that ache for the hardships of others and hands ready to help those less fortunate than themselves.
Why should you care?
The Amazon Rainforest is burning. This affects the local people, animals, way of life, culture, and environment catastrophically — but the destruction of such a precious natural gem is travesty for us all. The Amazon Rainforest is home to an outstanding percentage and variety of unique flora and fauna, plus it provides the whole globe with essential supplies of oxygen. We must all act to end these flames.
How can you help?

Why Rainforest Alliance?
I particularly passionate about helping the animals suffering from the forest fires, and (based on the research I’ve done) I believe Rainforest Alliance is an excellent charity of choice to honor this desire.
Right now, Rainforest Alliance is donating 100% of donations made via Instagram to the frontline relief of the Amazon Rainforest Fires. Proceeds from this GoFundMe campaign will be sent directly to that cause — so every penny will be working to help stop this tragedy.
