Community Outreach for the Homeless

Hello,
I am starting this fund to reach out and help with the crisis that we have in our community with the homeless population.  I am about to graduate from the Harrisburg Area Community College with a degree in Social Work, specializing in Crisis Management and I am interning in that role as well.   This has given me the contacts and the ability to help people, but we are critically short on the funding to do so.  We currently are dealing with teenagers, adults, veterans, and mentally challenged people who are being left on our streets without homes, and forgotten about.  My vision is to raise money to be able to make bags that will help provide basic needs and necessities to them that they otherwise do without.  This includes, but is not limited to:  toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, razors, washcloths, soap, combs, hand sanitizer, tissues, nail clippers, and other basic needs according to the season.

Raising this money will allow us to provide the simple things that most of us have, yet this population struggles to have - or very frequently goes without.  Please join me in helping them.  Along with these items, we will provide information on where anyone can get help to get themselves off the streets and into safer living conditions, along with the support and help they may require for any other issues they are dealing with. 

I believe that if you have a passion for people and the willingness to change the things that should not be hurtful in this world - it starts with just one person rising up and paying it forward.  Thank you for helping me make a difference.
