Wish to become a Yoga Teacher

Donation protected
If somebody would have told me 7 years ago that I would do yoga and meditate every day, I would probably laughed in their face. 7 years ago, at the top of my basketball career, I found out that I had herniated discs in my lower back. My mom has it too and she got surgery for it, but I was very young at that moment. Doctors thought I would never do any sport again, ever. I did manage to come back to basketball but not at the same level as before. It took me one and a half years of struggling, both physically and mentally. Even though I was not in any rough pain anymore, I still felt my back troubling me if I wasn’t gentle enough with it.

I never want to show off as weak, in any way. I have always been the outgoing, good and reasonable girl with good grades, lots of friends, good athletic skills and so on. I always put pressure on my self – in school, sports, boyfriends, and friends. This pressure on my self almost got the best of me a couple of years ago, I was not happy and I was stressed all the time. My mom, my meditating role model mom, suggested I try meditation with her. So I did… And it changed my way of seeing and being in this world.

Meditation became a way to just focus on my self and deal with what was really going on inside myself. It made me able to see things from another perspective. I could now reason with my inner self and deal with my inner stress just from breathing and being present in the moment. I could now feel so much more energy, both from myself and from others and share this energy around me. I started doing yoga in combination with the meditation at this point, but my main focus was still the meditation. I felt my back getting better from yoga, but I did not practice it enough for it to be all gone. I was not until I got here to San Diego that I really noticed what yoga could do for me and other people around me. My back and my inner well being has never been this good. And the people I have met have given me so much energy. I believe energy is contagious and that sharing energies is the biggest part of our lives as human beings.

I believe meditation and yoga is for everybody, and I mean everybody. It doesn’t matter if you are considered “fat” or “skinny”, your “race”, your age or if you are injured. Yoga helps everybody. Injuries can always be overcome with the right movements and breathing. Since I have had a huge journey, both physically and spiritually – I want to be able to share this with the world. I want to help heal others and continuing healing myself. Because, it’s the energy from within that will determine your happiness and understanding of life. I want to contribute to the yoga world by being a teacher that will be remembered. I want to teach classes where the students go: “Wow, that was really something.” My goal is to be able to affect people so that they learn and feel something new with me as a teacher.

So, I am planning on taking a yoga teacher training with the amazing Shawna Schenk here in San Diego from April 11th – June 7th. This training is obviously not for free and I am a poor student, which is why I created this gofundme page. Every donation is welcome and appreciated. However, donations over 20 dollars will receive free yoga classes with me.

20 $ - 1 free yoga class

100 $ - 5 free yoga classes

 and so on…

I hope that my story and my goals speaks to people and that I can raise a little bit of money for this training.

Never forget: You are all amazing people with a huge purpose in the world - share your energy and get energy back.
