The family of Yuichi Prime “Uwee” Bernas is desperately in need of financial help right now to sustain his medication and hospital bills.
His mother quit her Job in January this year, to take care of Uwee’s needs. All of the family’s savings was already exhausted in his 4 months of medications, check-ups and hospitalizations.
Uwee was a sweet, fun-loving and energetic 6 year old boy, until he was diagnosed with Nephrotic Syndrome in December 2014, at that time, he was also diagnosed with Pneumonia.
Uwee was was put on Antibiotics for 2 weeks to cure his pneumonia.
Then Uwee he was rushed to the hospital (San Pedro Hospital, Davao City) - he was diagnosed to have Annular Vascular Uticaria, an allergy brought upon by Pneumonia. Again he was given high dosage of antibiotics. He was confined in the hospital for 2 weeks.
After his discharge from the hospital, he was still under medication but then his mother observed that he is excreting dark colored urine, and so he was brought to a Nephrologist at Davao Doctors Hospital, Davao City for a check-up. He was diagnosed to have enlargement/swelling of his both kidneys. He was given another batch of medicines and steroids for his Nephrosis and he was advised to be confined at Davao Doctors Hospital for observation.
As of this writing Uwee’s Doctors wanted him to undergo Biopsy and Chemotheraphy. He is still in the ICU of Davao Medical School Foundation, Davao City Philippines. He had a mild stroke last night (April 7th)
and his brain is swelling as well.
