Hi everyone! I'm just a local guy with 34 years of restaurant experience who finally wants to make the leap to being self-employed again with a unique concept. I've spent the last year contemplating different idea's and menus, looking at different locations and getting to know what YOU, my fellow Allentown people are craving and I have decided on "the Local", a small private dining room hosting 2 different concepts in one, "4-Play-te" & "SIN-NER".

I really enjoy all things food, cooking & every aspect of the restaurant business. From Jersey City to San Francisco, I have done everything from being a bus boy and serving tables at my Mom's Diner growing up to managing 5 star restaurants, I've even had to jump on the line several times when a cook called off work. No aspect of this business has been untouched. So rest assured, you’re in good hands. My focus in all positions I've held has always had an attention to detail and service. My menu will be new, exciting and creative compared to what you have seen in the new local downtown restaurants. I kinda feel that even though they are all new, they all have almost the same menu with a twist here and there....boring and predictable in my opinion.

Two new dining concepts under one roof, "FourPlay-te" @ the Local is a romantic, couples, pre-fixe, 4 course dinner in your own curtained off, private dining area, yet "Sin-ner" @ the Local will be a private cocktail half-hour and 3 course, pre-fixe dinner for a group of 12 singles who get to meet, mingle and enjoy great company. Who knows, you'll either meet a date or just a great friend.

      Basically this is going to be a word of mouth dining experience. Going out to dinner here in Allentown can be expensive, why? Because of the high rents that's why. This beautiful space will be in Center City but not in the main stream where the rents are high and valet parking will kill you. These choices enable me to offer a four course meal for the low price of $50 per person. Where else can you beat that? You can't! Until now! The location I want is still being renovated so the faster I move on this the better. The block I want right now is a little desolate, North 10th Street, but has a police station on the corner, tons of parking and only three other businesses over a 2 block stretch. The Stonewall is on that block as well as many empty stores. I believe as an upbeat gay man, that adding my presence to this block will help start revitalizing it.

      Prior to your reservation you & your guest will receive a "membership" card via email. The menu will change weekly based on the freshest ingredients available. So you will receive an email once a week with available dates and menu selections. You can then decide when you would like to dine depending on your likes and dislikes.

      The decor will be simple but cozy with black and gold striped walls, "moveable" black fabric partitions to keep your dining private, funky light fixtures, linen tablecloths & napkins, multiple candlesticks, fresh cut flowers and lounge style music....loud enough to not be heard by others but low enough to hold a private conversation. Your server will be the only person you interact with, the focus is on you and your guest. Sound great? It will be,During the week, From Sunday evening through Friday daytime, the space will also be used as a space for rent for birthday parties, baby showers or whatever someone wants to hold there.
