Quest for the Best 2015

The mission of the Sigma Sigma Sigma Foundation works not only to provide life-enhancing therapy programs for children, but to also award scholarships and to provide innovative leadership programs for women.

The first National Philanthropy of Tri Sigma was the Robbie Page Memorial Fund.  In 1951, Robbie Page, the son of Tri Sigma's fourth National President, died of polio and the sisters of Tri Sigma created a fund in his honor to aide polio research.  It became our National Philanthropy in 1954. Once polio was cured, our funds were dedicated to a new cutting edge therapy, play therapy. Play therapy is a way to help chronically ill children cope and understand their illness in a child-friendly manner.  Because a child's physical, emotional, and intellectual development occurs through playing, therapeutic  play will ensure a child's development is not delayed due to illness.

In 1992 the Robbie Page Memorial Fund joined forces with the Sigma Sigma Sigma Educational Foundation and the Sigma Sigma Sigma Foundation was born.  Today, it primarily serves 3 children's hospitals in North Carolina, Texas, and recently Colorado. It also provides its members with leadership programs, such as Officer Academy and Dunham Women of Character Institute, and scholarships for both academics and attendance to national leadership conferences. To date, it has donated over 1.5 million dollars towards scholarships and leadership programs and over 3 million dollars to child therapy programs!

The Alpha Delta chapter held their first annual Quest for the Best Event across Drexel's campus.  Teams of six Drexel students competed in an Amazing-Race style event where their abilities were tested mentally, physically, and edibly.  In the 2013-2014 year, the Alpha Delta chapter raised $3,700 dollars for the Sigma Sigma Sigma Foundation, and we are hoping to break $5,000 in the 2014-2015 year!
