Hello everyone, my name is Bob. I am 59 years old. I am married and have 4 sons and 13 grandchildren. Currently my wife and I live in Owatonna Minnesota.
I have been diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease. Crohn’s is a disease that affects the human digestive tract from the mouth to the rear end. I have had multiple surgeries for fistulas, fissures and had many x rays, CT scans, MRI’s and numerous colonoscopies which continue to reveal adenomas or pre cancerous polyps. Cancer is a possibility if the adenomas continue to manifest themselves and removal of my colon may be necessary.
Crohn’s can take many shapes and forms. I have also been diagnosed with Cutaneous Crohn’s which manifests itself as rashes and cysts. I have also been diagnosed with Peyronie's disease related to Crohn’s.
The treatment that I first received was non radiation chemo therapy. Part of the chemo treatment involved anti reaction drugs that included steroids. After 3 years of chemo and steroids, the steroids have now started affecting my hips, shoulders, and knees. I also have degenerative disc disease which is affecting my back and could also require surgery. I have one vertabae that has slipped forward causing daily pain.
I recently had a full hip replacement on the left and a core decompression on the right.
I will be facing more and more medical treatments. The damage from the steroids is irreversible and permanent.
As you can imagine, medical bills are growing exponentially to the point that I cannot afford all my expenses. My wife has a small income and I am on long term disability.
I would like to raise enough to cover my medical expenses of approximately $10,000 total. If I cannot raise this, we are in danger of losing what we have worked years to build and my health will continue to deteriorate and as this happens, the medical bills will continue to build. We have exhausted all of our resources and I am swallowing my pride by asking for help here.
Please help with whatever you can. Everything and anything would be greatly appreciated by me and my family.
