A Car for Irene

Thanks for stopping by this page. Irene Wimberley is my good friend and has been for several years.

When I first met Irene, she was taking care of her bedbound mother and had been for 8 years, with little help from family members. She's now 65 years old and
works nights (11 p.m. to 8 a.m.) at the abused children's center for 17 years. While a noble job, it doesn't pay much.

Four weeks ago, a pickup truck backed into her car, totaling it. The driver mistook the gas for the brake smashing into it so hard, the trunk was nearly in the back seat.  I've been helping her with rides to and from work since that day as our town doesn't have city transportation. A 3-mile cab ride is $15.00, it's not affordable for her.

As she makes little money, she has very little credit. However, we've found a dealer willing to work with her. What is needed is funds for a down payment, tax, title, license and 2 months of insurance. She can handle the payments and insurance after the initial down payment.
