Support for Refugees in Europe

In Greece, Macedonia and in France a very real human tragedy is unfolding. As our leaders and the media debate over terminology, thousands of refugees – men, women and children - are suffering unimaginable horrors everyday. The international and national institutions that are supposed to protect these refugees are turning a blind eye but the simple fact remains: the people living in Calais and elsewhere have fled wars and persecution and they are protected under the Universal Declaration of Human Rights: “All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights.” These include rights to adequate shelter, nutrition and protection.
Whilst it’s difficult to know and understand the situation of refugees, there are ways in which – we the people – can support them.
Ours is a small group of ordinary people who believe that when institutions fail to protect the very vulnerable, it is our responsibility to do whatever we can to uphold the ideal that all human beings are equal in dignity.
We are raising money to support the refugees with essential supplies such as food, hygiene kits and blankets. Every penny raised on this site will go to buying these supplies. We plan to drive to Calais on 19th of September and distribute the supplies with the help of local groups who are doing whatever they can to help.
We need your help to support people who have no resources of their own to fulfill basic needs for themselves and their families.

The right to safety, shelter and food are basic universal rights of every human being in every country in the world and we can do our bit to uphold these.

The humanity and generosity of everyone involved in this project has been inspiring. This has been a collective effort to raise funds, collect donations and come together across the country to support refugees in Europe.
In the last few days we have been developing plans to reach refugees beyond Calais - to do this we need to continue working together to help as many people as we can.
Please continue to share our page so we can reach those who need it most.
