Glasgow's Iceland Fund

I am a Science Teacher at McDougle Middle School in Carrboro, NC.

I hope to spend 3 weeks in Iceland this summer to:
           -document active volcanos
           -study the use of geothermal energy
           -collect rock samples for student inquiry
           -Meet with an lcelandic teacher to connect
                  students cross-culturally.

Goals during and after the trip include:
           -increase global awareness for students.
           -build student interest in STEM careers.
           -authentically educate science classes grades
                  6-8 about sustainable energy. 
           -promote back and forth communication of
                 American / Icelandic students on pressing
                 science issues of our time.

This trip could be the planting of a seed!  I would love to return to Iceland with students in the future!
