Help Cultivate Local Art!

We’re building an art collective.  We’re over-serving to everyone because we believe in supporting talent.  We’re pushing group art to its extreme.

 We need your support.

You're receiving this note because you are friend, family, colleague, or perhaps all three. At some point you have critiqued us, praised us, supported us—likely, all three. You are appreciated.

We come to you now because we have an idea, a plan, a dream.

If you ever thought the Dallas art scene needed a reboot, Random Art is for you. If you’re an artist who has been longing for a space to showcase your talent, Random Art is for you.

On its most fundamental level, Random Art is for everyone who appreciates raw talent and finds value in supporting local art.

We need your support to take it to another level.

The Random Art Curators are one of the first minority-based art collectives in Dallas. Created in 2013, the curators are composed of two rising Dallas artists (Brenton Black, Jason Sanders) who saw it fit to bring their talents to those who may not be familiar with their work.
What began as a small way to collectively showcase their art soon became the foundation to help other rising stars display and sell their bodies of work in a gallery setting. In three successful showings, Random has not only helped artists engage with potential buyers, but has acted as a teacher to many up-and-comers in order to develop the focus between creativity and business acumen.

The mission of the Random Art Curators is threefold: hand-pick a set number of local artists, effectively show each how to present work in galleries, and encourage the branding of local artists both in and outside of the community.

It is their hope the small collective they started to showcase their own work, might be the bridge between creating and acquiring clients, fans, and collectors.

Random Art is 100% artist-owned and operated. This means every Random Art event has been conceived, orchestrated, and run exclusively by its members and volunteers. The Random fan base is made up of a diverse group of artists, buyers, and collectors alike. Dipping into this pool for gallery events and new artists to showcase allows Random to operate as a successful and dynamic organization.

What’s next? What do we need from you?

While social media has made it easier for artists to get their work seen, one of the greatest barriers in bringing new work to collectors and spectators alike is the lack of funding and costs associated with gallery showings.  As artists who have experienced the trials and hardships found in the curation of shows, we wanted to help turn hardship into help by opening our own space for artists, creatives, and those looking to showcase their work. We call this The Random Gallery.

All within the same space, we hope to offer co-working stations to help artists experience a space where they can create outside of their home studios. Our main goal, though? Show our work and the work of other local artists in a ready-made space that supports traditional art, contemporary works, and photography.

And to quote The Wire creator David Simon: "It costs money to make content on a different level." We're raising money so The Random Gallery can be extremely beneficial in the community it serves, so we can have a place of our own—and so we can bring you amazing experiences throughout the year.

We will reward you not only with an amazing gallery, but also with some very cool rewards—we're launching a campaign today.

Our goal is $10,000. You can pledge five dollars, you can pledge ten thousand dollars. There are interesting, helpful, fun and quirky prizes for both amounts and for all amounts in between.

Also: help amplify our message. Your networks are amazing and unique: every tweet counts, every Facebook mention, every Instagram, every Tumblr reblog, every #RAGallery anyplace matters.

And let us know about your projects, so we can support in return.

With our gratitude,

Random Art Curator
