Yoga Balls for the Classroom

Hello all!  I am a 5th grade teacher at a local elementary school and have taught for 23 years now.  I have a wonderful class full of 24 excited learners.   They work hard each and every day.

However, over the years, students and classroom have changed dramatically with all of the advances in technology, testing mandates and so on.  As educators, we must be willing to change with the times.

I have been doing research recently on ways that I could change my classroom and instruction so that it is more engaging.  One thing that has struck me has been the amount of research showing that "stability balls" or "yoga balls" in place of a student chair can have an enormous impact on students' ability to pay attention.  Students were more engaged in lessons, posture has improved, and it has an all around positive impact on the classroom.  

I would LOVE (and I am sure my students would as well :) to swap out the chairs in my classroom for some "stability balls".  It requires approximately $1000 to do so and the money would be used to do this. I would be immensely grateful, as I am sure my 24 students would be as well.  Thank you for helping me to better engage my students in learning!
