The Senior Hub's Legacy Garden

Since 1986, The Senior Hub has transformed the lives of thousands and thousands of people—aging seniors who could not stay in their homes without the help of The Hub, and their families who appreciate the programs that make caring for their loved ones less difficult.
We want to design and plant a simple, beautiful Legacy Garden adjacent to our Federal Heights office where our dedicated volunteers and professional staff can remember the people they have cared for and loved. Remember the frail senior who hugged them every time they arrived with a hot meal. Remember the bow of thanks from a wife who needed respite from caring for her husband to see her own doctor or steal a contemplative moment in church. Remember the children who depended on The Hub to monitor their parents’ health and safety, and provide the opportunity for mom and dad to age independently and with dignity.
Many seniors come to our office to take advantage of our food bank, pick up free medical equipment that The Hub lends, become familiar with our directory of services for seniors offered throughout Adams County and neighboring communities, or get guidance from our professionals/advocates that helps them take advantage of local, state, and federal programs for seniors. Legacy Garden will be a soothing place for our seniors to take a minute and forget life’s stresses that can feel a bit exaggerated as one ages.
A recent study indicates that Colorado’s aging population has already increased almost 30 percent over the last five years. The Hub’s services will only continue to be in greater demand. We are currently expanding to new areas because of that demand. While many of our services are free, we strive to keep the costs of our meals and day care and homecare services very reasonable. We would not take a penny from our senior programs for our Legacy Garden.
