Fannie's Kidney Transplant

In 2006, Fannie was diagnosed with Stage 4 cervical cancer. She was treated by radiation and chemotherapy. 8 years later she was informed that her kidneys had been damaged due to the radiation. In a matter of 9 months her kidneys went from functioning at 23% to 1%. After undergoing numerous surgeries, her insurance lapsed and she is now only receiving dialysis. Her dialysis treatments are two days a week for 3 hours. The side effects are loss of taste, sleepiness,  feeling cold, and vomiting. All of which have  affected her and her daily lifestyle. Luckily, she has found a donor, none other than her spouse Martin Garcia. They'll both be undergoing surgery and will be in bed rest for a month and two weeks.  Insurace will only cover 80% of the total cost and that includes surgery and medications.

En 2006, Fannie fue diagnosticado con la etapa 4 del cáncer de cuello uterino. Ella fue tratada por la radiación y la quimioterapia. 8 años más tarde se le informó de que sus riñones habían sido dañados debido a la radiación. En cuestión de 9 meses sus riñones fueron de funcionamiento en un 23% a 1%. Después de someterse a varias cirugías, su seguro caducado y ahora está sólo recibiendo diálisis. Sus tratamientos de diálisis son dos días a la semana durante 3 horas. Los efectos secundarios son la pérdida del gusto, somnolencia, sensación de frío, y vómitos. Todo lo cual ha afectado a ella ya su estilo de vida diario. Por suerte, ella ha encontrado un donante, no es otro que su esposo Martín García. Van a ambos ser sometidos a cirugía y estará en reposo en cama durante un mes y dos semanas. Insurace sólo cubrirá el 80% del costo total y que incluye cirugía y medicamentos.
