Help Save Holly From Lymphoma

Donation protected
Holly is my baby. This is Holly’s story so far…….

Holly is my dog with 9 lives…

Four years ago I was looking up dogs in high kill shelters, and trying to get rescues to take them by cross posting. I found Holly a 9 month old Bullmastiff with soulful eyes. With the contacts I had found, I contacted a Bullmastiff rescue to go look at her. I was so happy I helped save her life.

Then came the phone call that broke my heart. The rescue told me this dog had been dropped off by a breeder due to her crooked spine. She was supposed to have been euthanized but the technician was on break, and a mistake was made and she was put up for adoption… she continued to tell me the owner contacted The pound and the “dog should have been put out of her misery by now”.

OMG I THOUGHT.. I HAD THIS BEAUTIFUL DOG DESTROYED BY TRYING TO SAVE HER.I immediately contacted Lancaster animal control, I eventually got through to the on duty officer. He told me the dog didn’t really want to walk when she came in, but they put her on rimidyl and after a few doses and she was getting around fine. He told me she was up for adoption, and they refused to euthanize her as the owner requested. I drove straight to Southern California, and was at the glass doors when they opened the next day.

They put me in a kennel with a 90 lb Bullmastiff who reminded me of Fernando the Bull. She would not hurt a flea. After we met , she layed by the kennel door as if to say don’t leave me here. I DIDN’T… I adopted her.. Her name is Holly.

*Holly loves food. It is one of her favorite things in life. *

She also loves toys, so much so that after having her for a year she swallowed a stuffed animal. It became lodged in her intestines.. and Surgery #1 happened. This emptied out my savings account, but it was ok.. Holly was ok.. no more toys unless she was supervised…

Emergency #2

I came home from work and found holly with video tape film hanging from her butt. To the vet we go , x rays.. and a vet carefully pulling the tape out … Holly was fine… and the vet said we had to switch from VHS to DVD. So we did.

Emergency #3

We had taken Holly for a walk. She kind of fell over.. and her tongue looked a little blue. We rushed her to the emergency vet, and she was diagnosed with Pulmonary stenosis. She needed a heart ultra sound, and a procedure to open up her artery. We had the procedure done, and she was ok.

Emergency #4

We had a bbq, it all happened so quickly, but Holly grabbed a corn cob off the Table, and swallowed it after biting it into 2 pieces. Another abdominal surgery, this One had to be done at UC Davis due to Hollys heart murmur.

Needless to say, every time I save up some money , Holly likes to help me give it to a veterinarian.I work at a care home and make 11.50 per hour. I have started selling Scentsy which helps me a little. Holly loves me more than life itself. She will not fall asleep at night unless she is laying right next to me in bed, even when it is 80 degrees outside :). She really is my best friend !BUT… now we are facing our most challenging and terrifying hurdle. Holly has Lymphoma.I need help.. I want to do everything I can to help her, as I have been told Chemotherapy can put lymphoma into remission. We are still in the testing phase, a little false hope at the beginning that it could be a tick bourne disease, but I am already at 800.00 for aspirations/biopsies.Chest xrays, blood work and Monday is a liver/spleen sonogram and more aspirations/biopsies. That is not even our initial consultation for Chemotherapy.

PLEASE HELP ME SAVE MY FRIEND…
