Exciting things are happening this summer with the Birchfield family. Steve, David, Paige, Hannah, and Charles have all answered the call to "GO" with " Here I am, send ME!"
They each have the honor to go on short-term mission trips to work with children, orphans, families, and adults with developmental disabilities.
The opportunity and abitity to participate in a trip like these is such a privilege and one that we do not take lightly.
David will be travelling to Rwanda to help children at a project called the Catch-Up School.
Charles will be travelling with a small group to Tennessee to work at Christian Churches Disability Ministry (CCDM). The team he is going with will be working with facilities and maintenance to help with projects around the campus, and in the evenings they will have dinner with the residents and just spend some time with them.
Steve, Hannah, and Paige are going to Ecuador working with the local chapter of "Helping Hands Across Ecuador" where they will be immersed in a local cummunity serving alongside them as well as ministrering to them in many ways.
We are excited to see how God grows each of them this summer. We love that we are part of a community that sees the needs both locally and globally, recognizing that ultimately we are all one.
Many of you have asked for a way to contribute that did not involve remembering to send mail, etc... so we've created this page as an easy centralized source. As you can imagine, the cost of 5 trips (4 of which are international) is daunting, but we also know it is doable. We appreciate any amount that you feel you can give to help them reach their goal. The BIGGEST way that you can help is by praying for everyone on these trips, praying for the people that they will working with, and praying for provision. I think Steve said it best when he said... " For many of us, this is our first missions trip. Please pray that our groups are kept safe, and for the ability to make these demanding trips. Also, most importantly, for the word of God to be seen and heard and for hearts to be changed!"
The total amount needed for all the trips is a little over $8000 and we currently have about $6000 left to raise.
