Coopers Healthy Heart Fund

Well Cooper's echo today did not show any improvement so the cardiologist in Des Moines sent us to Iowa City. Cooper has a condition called cardiomyopathy. His heart is larger than its supposed to be and not functioning properly. Basically he was born with it and it is just now showing itself. The ultimate treatment for this is a heart transplant. So we are at the U of I under the care of a great team to prepare him for that. Goal for this hospital stay is to do all necessary... tests to get him on the list for a heart and then back on IV meds which he will hopefully go home with early next week if he responds well. We then will hopefully be able to stay at home until a heart becomes available. Unknown as to when that would be. Cooper continues to be a fighter and a trooper. He charms the staff with his smile...Obviously it has been a very emotional day for us but this is what God has given us and we will get through it together and with him.
