Hi, For those of you who don't know me, my name is Mary and I have spent the past 4 months helping with with the refugees, distributing aid, volunteering my time, feeding, clothing and basically helping in every way I could, from the Calais ( jungle) to Lesvos, Greece,
Having met some of the most beautiful, couragious and dignified people ever. Their strength and endurance has been such an inspiration to all of us volunteers who connected with these people, we found them to be just like us, same dreams and aspirations we all have.
This is wy I want to do everything I can to help!
We want to raise £3.600 to pay for the cost of shipping desperately needed 40ft container of clothes, shoes and blankets out to Athens and the Greek islands to the refugees who are cold, wet and in urgent need of warm clothes and shoes, I hope to be at the other end to meet the container. Your donations will save so many lives and every pound raised will help make life a lot more barable to those who need our help right now!
100% of the money raised will go towards this.
We have witnessed a humanitarian catastrophe first hand on a scale that is truly unimaginable and I believe this will go down in history as the greatest human crisis our world has ever seen.The refugees fleeing war, persecution and torture and having to make such a trecherous journey from Turkey over to the Greek islands and then through SE Europe, fleeing out of desperation, with just the wet clothes on their backs, No one would make this journey unless their own lives were in danger. and no one would put their children on dangerous boats unless the sea was safer than the land. People are freezing, saturated from boats either sinking or just making the perilous journey, nearly all arrive on the Greek islands traumatised, frightened, cold, hungry scared and often suffering from hypothermia and as the weather is only going to get worse this aid needs to get to the people by the end of January/early Febuary.
I hereby ask you from the bottom of my heart to get behind this campaign and donate towards getting this urgent aid out, any amount of money you can give no matter how small will save lives. and will help east the suffering of many. they need our help now!
