Taking on Tanzania

With your help, I can change the World. This summer, I will spend two months of service abroad at the Engineering World Health Summer Institute. I will learn how to service biomedical devices in the field and how to devise creative solutions for providing medical care with limited or antiquated technologies.
The total cost to attend the EWH Summer Institute is roughly $9,000 (tuition, airfare, and associated immunizations). As the first recipient of a MedTech scholarship to attend EWH, I will be receiving approximately a third toward my expenses. I am looking to you for additional support. Your contribution to this initiative reaches far beyond getting me to Tanzania. It reaches the individuals who reap the benefits of the service that I can provide while there and the underserved populations that I am able to help during my career as a biomedical engineer (University of Rochester and SUNY Binghamton).
Any donations that exceed my original goal of $5000 will be donated to MedTech to benefit future EWH Summer Institute scholars. I've included some photos, a video that speaks volumes to the initiative and why it is so critically important, and an informational link to EWH. My name is Lisa Benison . I recently completed my BS in Biomedical Engineering from SUNY Binghamton. In May of 2015 I will be graduating with my MS degree in Biomedical Engineering from the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Rochester within the Center for Medical Technology and Innovation. After returning fromTanzania I will be seeking employment in the biotech industry.
