Shadow's Medical Expenses

A day or two ago our husky was acting weird ( not her normal self ). Last night my husband decided to go and get her checked out by a 24/7 vet to see what was wrong.


It turns out that she has Pyometra ( Pyometra is defined as an infection in the uterus. Pyometra is considered a serious and life threatening condition that must be treated quickly and aggressively ). It basically happens after so many years of the in-tact female dog not getting pregnant ( which we had wanted to mate her, it just never happened ).


So she needed emergency surgery. The first place my husband took her gave us an estimate of $3500 - 5500. We couldn't afford that. So my husband brought her back home and he was going to wait until this morning to take her somewhere else, but after seeing her I knew she wouldn't make it through the night.


Luckily a friend of my husbands suggested a night vet and that's where he took her. The quote was in a much better price range and so we had them do the surgery.

However, her uterus had ruptured as they were waiting for her to stablize in order to do the surgery. Needless to say she has a long road to recovery because when the uterus ruptured it damaged other organs.

We are making this gofundme in order to achieve the funds needed to help keep Shadow as comfortable as possible and to help her get back to full strength.

We love our fur baby and so do our kids. She's been in our family for 7 years and I can't imagine her not being around.
