Project:Saving Amy

This Toyota mr2 turbo widebody was once a clean well put together example. But after many years of wear and tear the owner Paul decided to show it some love and restore the body and paint that had been damaged. After promising this car forever and starting to tear it down for restoration Paul passed away. God has helped this car find a local Mr2 lover to finish his mission and restore the car for his family and son left behind.

Project:Saving Amy is named after a Brantly Gilbert song that closely follows this narrative, but between a man and woman.

In loving Memory, Paul Gasienica-Szymkow

I made an Instagram for the revival of Paul's car. Feel free to follow @project_saving_amy

His family thinks they are paying me for my services, parts, and paint. I have decided to supply everything i can at no cost to them and would like to deliver a 100% finished car that looks exactly the way it did when Paul got it. Any help is greatly appreciated. I am 1 man and not a buisness so doing this alone has proven a bigger challenge than i had thought. When Paul passed away the cars where abouts were unknown and after some skilled detective work from his family it was tracked down to a local body shop in the condition posted in the pictures. All of the interior is missing and the body work not even close to ready for paint.

I have been able to supply 70% roughly of the interior parts, but there is still a bunch missing. Also recently noticed the front calipers have been lost as well as the head lights which is a bigger issue than it sounds as both were rare older aftermarket additions to the car.

The picture of it painted is how the car looked when he got it and the end goal. The rest are of how they looked when i was brought on to restore it.

Parts are a viable donation option if you happen to be like me and have more spare parts than money and would still like to chip in towards a worthy cause.

Any donations that are not used to finish restoring the mr2 for Pauls son will be put into a savings account to go towards his sons college funds.
