Medical Vet Care Mission to Samana

Donation protected

Project Samana is a veterinary outreach program that started 20 years ago, on the Samana peninsula of Dominican Republic.  The Dominican Republic is still considered the second poorest nation in the western hemisphere, and the animals here suffer as a result. In keeping with The Village Vets core values, we helped provide essential veterinary care not only for dogs and cats, but also for horses and mules. Keep in mind that these horses and mules are essential working animals used to provide income for families, transportation and tourism.

For the third year in a row, Dr Francoise Tyler, Dr Carrie McColgan and Treasure Dreher from The Village Vets Lilburn/Stn Mtn will be joining Team Samana. We will perform spays and neuters for small domestic animals, and provide equine medicine to the horses and donkeys.

This year,  The Village Vets will be hosting our own outreach program modeling after this highly successful one which was founded by Dr. Bob Labdon and Dr. Jay Merriam of Massachusetts.  We're asking for your help to make this trip possible for the people of Samana, and our dedicated Veterinary Techncians and Doctors who help to make this mission complete. With your help, you can make this good deed possible.

Make sure to visit our facebook page for updates regarding our online silent auction for great items, and our main event on August 10, 2016 at our Lilburn location, for a chance to win a year supply of heart worm and Feline Revolution Preventive and other great items.

Thank you for your generosity in making Help Samana Mission Possible.

From all of us at The Village Vets!
