Project Pink Ink is a non-profit organization that provides arts based services to cancer patients.
The story behind Project Pink Ink:
In 2005 my mom was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer, she remained cancer free for 8 years and in 2014 she was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. After my mom was diagnosed in 2005 and experiencing the lack of support in hospitals for patients and families, I decided to go back to school to become an art therapist so I could help people going through the same thing as my family.
From our experience with cancer Project Pink Ink was born. Project Pink Ink is an organization that brings artwork to patients staying in the hospital for cancer treatment. There is growing research to support the fact that a patients mental state can impact their immune system and that viewing and creating art can impact a persons mood and therefore their immune system, helping them heal faster. It is my goal to bring the benefits of art to as many cancer patients as possible.
100% of your donations will help provide the following for cancer patients:
- individual printed and framed works of art to patients
- individual art kits for patients
- the ability for project pink ink to maintain an online community for patients
- art workshops and art therapy for patients and their family memebers
