Opera is timeless. It gives us the chance to share entertaining stories, cultural traditions, political statements, and unconquerable love. It provides the opportunity to laugh, to cry, to relate, and to believe, all through a high level of intelligent music and genuine artistry. Rossini was made famous (and continues to be!) by his comedic pieces, his most famous being "Il Barbiere di Siviglia", or "The Barber of Seville". Another work of his that includes even more dynamic characters, even more memorable music, and even more unbelievably crazy antics is his "Il Turco in Italia".
Celebrating its 200th birthday last year, "Il Turco" has been surging back into popular demand and into opera houses around the world, but until now it has not made its way into a professional venue anywhere in Texas. This May, however, that all changes. Your contribution will help enable Houston the access to this comedic masterpiece that it needs in order to remain one of the country's top creative and artistic centers. Donations will help cover theater rental, rehearsal space rental, production, set design and construction, costume, prop, and equipment costs in addition to compensating the cast and crew for their time, their training, and their world-class abilities.
A $25 donation will get you an autographed program from the show
A $75 donation will get you one complimentary voice or piano lesson
A $100 donation will get you an autographed program from the show and one complimentary voice or piano lesson
A $250 donation will get you an autographed CD of one of the vocalists, an autographed program, and one complimentary voice or piano lesson
A $500 donation will get you a post-performance meet and greet and photos with the performers, an autographed program or CD, and one complimentary voice or piano lesson
A $750 donation will get you (or your business) personally mentioned in the program, a post-performance meet and greet and photos with the performers, an autographed program or CD, and one complimentary voice or piano lesson
A $1000 donation will get you a front row seat and personalized live performance of a song for one of our fund-raising and/or marketing events, you (or your business) personally mentioned in the program, a post-performance meet and greet and photos with the performerse, an autographed program or CD, and one complimentary voice or piano lesson
