Prayers for Bowen /Lightning Victim

"The only thing I can say is... Thank you Lord I can still hold this sweet boys hand!! I am alone with my sweet Baby Bowen and it is just a great time to reflect and thank the Lord yet again for our miracle boy Bowen!!!"

The above is a post by Bowen Tyre's mother, Heather, just four days after watching him being struck by lightning on June 9, 2015, in Volusia County, Florida. Bowen's father is Jason Tyre, and his younger brother is Jase.

Those of us who see Heather's posts are accustomed to seeing pictures with both her sons (usually in camoflauge or ready for sports) with Heather expressing her love and gratitude for her family.(Bowen on the right with his brother, Jase, on the left.)

Mother's Day 2015
Heather's post, "Blessed beyond measure that these two call me Mama!! Words could never describe how full they make my heart."

Only a few short weeks later, this mother watched as a bolt of lightning struck her son who was standing in water, fishing. Bowen was pulled from water and immediately administered CPR and rushed for care. The whole family along with friends were at the beach.

There is no doubt this family does everything together and loves each other so much. They are a set. Only by miracle, is this set still a complete set. We thank our Heavenly Father for blessing Bowen to survive such a terrifying event. We pray for continue healing and for strength for this wonderful and beautiful family.

With such an event we are so humbled by the prayers and support being offered by so many people. A Facebook page has been setup and can be viewed at: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Prayers-for-Bowen-Tyre/847680245316762?fref=ts.  Our biggest request is to continue praying for Bowen. We have a long road ahead of us.

Heather's posts from June 10th:
"We appreciate all of the calls, texts and mostly prayers. We feel each of them and we know our Lord has a purpose and plan or [for] this remarkable son of ours. He was the Lords son first and we know we were blessed to become his earthly parents. Please continue to pray without ceasing and remember Jase, Jason and I because we have already been told we have a long road ahead of us. We have so many of our loved ones here with us which is a true blessing. Please keep positive thoughts only and know we love each and everyone of you dearly."

As Heather and Jason's family, we are reaching out to the community to first of all ask to please continue praying, but to also help raise funds for the many expenses that they already have and that they will occur. Donations can be made via GoFundMe or locally at PrimeSouth Bank under Heather Bowen Tyre/Prayers for Bowen Tyre.

If you would like the opportunity and have the means to contribute financially, any amount is appreciated and humbly welcomed. We also would like to give the opportunity for anyone to send Bowen/family a letter or card or even newspaper. You may do so at the following address: 5767 E Main Street, Patterson, GA 31557. (This is not Jason and Heather's personal address, but all mail for them will be sent to them.) Encouragement goes a long ways!

It is not known what the final financial outcome will be or how long of a process this will be. The doctors have let us know that we have a long road ahead of us. The costs will be made up from the hospitals, doctors, emergency transportations, tests, physical therapy, future surgery(ies) including repair for a ruptured ear drum, and also the costs of traveling and eating and other expenses. We hope to help ease what burden we can for Heather and Jason and family, so they can focus on Bowen.

On behalf of Heather, Jason, Bowen, and Jase we thank you for all your prayers, thoughts, letters, cards, and/or financial contributions that have been made or will be made.

The community has been showing support by using camoflauge bows. It is beatiful to see all the support and love for Bowen! We are so grateful.

Our latest update on Bowen is the following post,
"We have been having a fun time the last 24 hours with Bowen. As he wakes more and more he has some very humorous things to say. He will sing parts of his favorite songs the funniest has to be "her lips taste like sangria" he just says it over and over. He really believes he will be the next Blake Shelton or even more popular... All I do is encourage. He has been drinking some blue Gatorade from a straw and this is a huge step! We are so very humbled by the staff here and how awesome they are to Bowen. All of our family and framily has been awesome as well as each of you reading this. I can't wait until he is awake long enough to share all of the Camo for Bowen pictures so please keep posting. We love you all in our hometown as well as other surrounding counties!! Continue to lift sweet Baby Bowen up every prayer is being answered and then some!!! Love to you all from The Tyre's!!"  Our next step is to start therapy.

Heather's last picture on Facebook before Bowen was struck by lightning. Our whole family has quickly become huge fans of Darius! We thank him for his generosity, love, support and prayers he has offered Bowen and family during this time! You are awesome, Darious!

Here are a few more pictures:
"As I am sitting and praying and watching my sweet baby Bowen rest and trying to fight his way back to us I am just in awe. Just Monday he and I were headed to our happy place which is Daytona Beach Shores. We have 10 years of happy memories here and I plan on us making more. We laughed and sang and mind you I don't sing well but my Bowen sure does. I am not certain I will ever love the beach again just the same but I do know it is one of The Lords most beautiful and sacred places to reflect and pray. We were placed at this place for a reason because he is getting the very best medical treatment in the country. Here is a picture we snapped when we got to Daytona on Monday. He made me a Mama first and I remember the day he said those precious words for the first time I am praying to hear them again very soon. Again thank you all for the prayers and love we feel them all and the miracle this sweet young man is to so many people. Thank you Pierce County and surrounding counties for lifting my family up and we love you all!"(Bowen with Mother Heather)
