We have set up this page to generate support for our friend Mohammed Bangoura.
Mohammed is a disabled Guinean craftsman living in The Gambia, West Africa. He was a drum-maker, but is now too unwell to work. He has an unspecified degenerative neurological condition, which prevents him from walking and severely impacts on his ability to carry out daily tasks such as washing and dressing.
We are particularly concerned about his ability to manage as he is living with his two children. They have sponsors for their schooling and are doing very well.
We don't want their education to be interupted by their having to remain at home to care for their father.
There is no cure for his condition and we want to help him to manage his daily life with as much comfort and dignity as possible.
Over the last 7 years we have supported him financially as much as we could, we are only 3 people however and the situation is now beyond our personal means. There is no social welfare system in West Africa. This is why we need your help. Please help us to help our friend.
