Dear friends and family,
It is with heavy hearts that my sister Melissa and I are writing this on behalf of our younger brother Michael Williams.
For those of you who know Mike, you know that it is not in his nature to share details of his personal life on social media. He is the kind of guy who “plays his cards close to his chest”. But sometimes life deals you a hand that is tough to handle by yourself.
In April 2014, Mike was blessed with the birth of his beautiful son Henry. Henry lives in Maine with his mother. Mike resides and works in Massachusetts, and visits with Henry whenever he possibly can. He strives to overcome many challenges in order to be involved in his son’s life.
On May 20th, 2015, 13 month old Henry was diagnosed with stage 3 inoperable Neuroblastoma. Since then, he has been hospitalized at Barbra Bush children’s hospital in Portland Maine, where he has already undergone several surgeries and his first round of chemotherapy treatment. Henry has been such a trooper, and is always trying to keep a smile on his precious little face.
Henry has a long battle in front of him and needs his father’s strength and support. This is why we are using the power of social media to appeal to the goodness, compassion, and generosity of others. We have set up this page as a central place for friends and family to offer support at any level to help offset the exuberant cost of medical deductibles, as well as Mike’s travel expenses (gas, tolls, hotels, food etc.)
We will post regular updates on Henry’s progress along the way, and urge you all to share this among your own network and #HelpHenry #Cancer #BeatCancer. Thank you in advance for your support and please keep Henry and our brother in your prayers.
