PidgiWiki needs your help!

PidgiWiki (http://www.pidgi.net/wiki/) started in February of 2010 as a way for me to organize all the images I downloaded from numerous Nintendo websites. After realizing that this collection might be of use to others, I made PidgiWiki public and began working to improve the quality and quantity of the content. In its first two years, PidgiWiki reached 2,000 files, and just three years after that, PidgiWiki's vast collection of video game artwork surpasses 11,000.

The artwork collection, while free to access, is not free to maintain. Server costs for the website exceed $200/year, and ad revenue only makes up about 10% of those costs. In addition, the acquisition of assets is not always free; one resource we use regularly charges about ten cents for each image, for example. Some assets are not even publicly available on the Internet at the moment, and are only known to exist on asset CDs. On the rare occassion these discs appear for sale, they can go for over $100 each, which has unfortunately prevented us from getting much desired artwork.

Any funds raised through this GoFundMe will go towards server costs, asset purchasing, and, if there is an abundance of excess funds, giveaways to PidgiWiki users. I will not and legally cannot profit from this project, something I would not want to do even if I could. I believe any funds that don't go towards the collection should go towards the companies that employ these artists, so any and all giveaways would be official video game merchandise.

As far as distribution of funds go, we will primarily be investing this money into purchasing assets. Only a portion will be used for server costs.
