Amazon Rainforest Conservation Peru

Donation protected

My wife and I have been working for the sustainable development of the Peruvian Amazon district of Las Amazonas, Oran, using the little profit we make through our travel company Otorongo Expeditions. Unfortunately , we are very limited to what we can do economically. We have big plans and great projects for local development but it all requires cash ( more than we actually have) expecially being a new family ( 3 children under the age of 3).
Our goals are slowly slipping out of the reachable zone. Being the only travel company that works in our district, we are practically the only voice for conservation, educating locals to value their resources more than what they are offered from illegal logging ( sometimes less than ten dollars per old growth tree). The locals we employ would otherwise be hunting or logging to support their families.
We have a plan to obtain a land lease from the Peruvian Government for up to 10,000 hectares of primary untouched high ground rainforest located ten kilometers north of the village of Oran (25,000 acres 6.5 miles in the interior)
This area contains the headwaters of several creeks and streams that empty into nearby rivers such as the rivers Oran, Apayacu, and Amazon. Within this headwater area you can find many endangered species of animals such as the wooly monkey, tapir, jaguar, harpy eagles and much more.
Our idea is to preserve this area and create jobs for locals by offering adventure wildlife tours to hosts of different people. Eventually, we will build a guest house on the crest of a hill that can overlook two valleys frequented by wild animals. Troops of wooly monkeys will be well in sight from either side of the house while Eco-adventurers witness the unfolding of Mother Nature before their eyes.
There is only so much time left as we hold off illegal loggers with their tractors so we need to legally obtain the land before the insidious machines takeover and ruin a millennials work of mother nature at her finest.
