Jany Deng is the program director of the Lost Boys Center for Leadership Development in Phoenix, AZ. He is one of the "Lost Boys of Sudan" forced to flee his village and walk miles to a refugee camp in Ethiopia at the age of 10.
Jany was resettled in the United States and has since dedicated his life to advocacy for South Sudan, refugees, and peace. He will speak about his journey, the transition to the United States, the current state of South Sudan, and the partnership between JMU and The Lost Boys Center for Leadership Development.
