friends, and everyone else! My name is Kadin Goldberg and I am moving to
Florence, Italy this April to attend Angel Academy of Art and I need
your help!
Let me begin by explaining what I plan to do with my education at Angel Academy of Art. With the skills acquired after finishing the 3 year program, I hope to become a professional classic realist painter. I will travel to impoverished areas around the world and paint people that are in need. I will then sell the paintings to the more fortunate and donate the majority of the money to help the subjects of the paintings. This would be a symbiotic relationship where something is gained for every individual involved. The subjects painted will improve their quality of life by accepting a donation, the purchaser of the painting will have a beautiful painting of someone that they helped, and I will have been able to do what I love.
Building a strong foundation in art is the most important part of becoming a professional artist and that is exactly what Angel Academy of Art teaches its students. Florence is the birthplace of Renaissance painting and where great artists such as Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo Buonarroti and Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio learned their skills. What better place to gain the fundamental skills required to become a classic realist painter?
Angel Academy of Art is a small art school in the heart of Florence that teaches classic realist drawing and painting. It is an intensive art program where students draw and paint for at least 36 hours per week, learning the fundamental skills required to become professional artists. Many of the students from Angel Academy of Art begin selling their artwork in fine art galleries even before graduation. I want nothing more than to be able to attend the full 3-year program and make my dream become a reality. This is where you come in!
Each year, which is broken down into trimesters, costs $12,000 not including living expenses or art supplies. I have managed to save a small chunk of money to pay for the first trimester, flight and some living expenses. I will take out some loans and try to find work, but I am going to need your help. I am looking to raise money for at least one trimester and the art supplies required for those classes.
So what's in it for you? I will not only be grateful for any contributions, I will also be happy to send you my student artwork! For the person that donates the most money by the 14th of June 2013, I will send an original painting or drawing of your choice that I have done in class. I will be uploading images of all my work done at the academy and at any point the person that donated the most may simply write me a message saying "I want that one!" and it's theirs. There is no time limit on selecting a piece of art, however I can only give artwork that I still have in my possession, so don't wait too long if there is something that you want!
The larger projects will be sent to those of you that push the donations over each threshold. For those of you that bring the donation amounts to over $1000, $2000, $3000, $4000 and $5000, expect a more refined painting or drawing. For example; if $2800 has been donated to the project and you make a donation of $200, you will receive a much larger project than you might have otherwise.
I also plan on randomly sending original art to donors. It's possible that everyone that donates will receive a piece of art, however due to the fact that I have no idea how many donors there will be, I will start by sending artwork to donors in a lottery type drawing. Donate $5 and you may receive a drawing that I spent 60 hours completing!
