PAIL Memory Blankets

This year I am raising money to make baby blankets that will be donated to Rachel's Gift, an organization that partners with hospitals to assist parents through the initial phase of infant loss through a base of caring and knowledgeable volunteers. They provide grief assistance for the families as well as a training program for nursing professionals and caregivers on companioning patients through infant loss. Rachel's gift also provides keepsakes for parents, these keepsakes will be a lifetime reminder and a physical connection to the child that was only in their life and in their arms a matter of minutes, hours or days.

This indescribable loss is something no family should ever have to experience and after losing our beautiful daughter, Evelyn Ryann, I knew that I wanted nothing more than the chance to give back. These blankets may be one of the few keepsakes a family has to remember their child and I know I cherished the ones we were given and still have them. The blankets may also be used to bury with their child. It is a very difficult thing to talk about, but we do not talk about it, these families go without the love and support they need during this time. Twenty dollars will pay for the materials for one blanket and a small amount to help compensate for my time making each blanket. I would like to be able to do more to give back and even begin working full time as a volunteer and for local charitable organizations and this will help in that goal. Thank you so much for helping me to help those going through one of the most challenging things a parent and family could ever go through. I truly appreciate it and know each family receiving these blankets will too.
