Move to Vancouver

Donation protected

Hi, My name is Eva.

Not to long ago, around three years ago to be exact, I moved to Regina, Saskatchewan. Since then, despite being surrounded by awesome and loving family, everything has gone downhill to me.

As I was leaving my hometown of Vancouver, I discovered I was transgender. I'll save the complicated explanation of that, but I was confused and feeling lower than ever. My entire body was feeling with what most trans folk call dysphoria. For more information on what dysphoria is, click here .

I trudged through, researching and picking out every little detail I could imagine. It was almost one and half years of solid researching (combined with with almost 5 years of researching I did before I knew I was transgender) before I finally came out to my mother. She was and still is supportive. The next step, until I came out to the rest of my family, was getting onto transitioning.  Honestly this GoFundMe is kind of a coming out letter, but that's beside the point.

As I knew I wouldn't have enough money to realisticly start transitioning now, I tried to find the best place to live that I could have the best form of transgender support from my province - and Regina is definitely not that place. Ironically, I found out one of the best places in Canada for trans folk was my hometown Vancouver.

With a fellow trans friend recently moving out and into their own place, I was inspired. I was tired of living in a funk and hating everything about my life, besides the family that kept me feeling moderately happy. I missed having friends that weren't also my cousin or her friends (even though I love her, and all her friends!! You all rock!!) and I missed not feeling lonely all the time despite being surrounded by people who love me.

I am working, and I'm actively presuing more hours as well as even a new job, so this is by no means an emergency. Just support, if wanted. I'm able and saving, but I still appreciate donations.

So, here's my request. I set the bar higher than I actually need, knowing that GoFundMe will take a percentage, but I still need around 1.8k-2k to live and find a job for a month in Vancouver while also paying the deposit. My first payment for the room, which I've already found and is filled with a bunch of awesome trans friendly people, is around 500$. I've been researching jobs, but for now many of them aren't open to people moving into the city.

I'm also open to doing art/commissions for people who wish to donate. Send me a message on here, if youre interested!

Thank you for reading this, sharing this and/or donating to my cause. Every little bit counts, please also share with your friends and family if you think they may help! <3
