Ladies Theme Luncheon for ACAP

Donation protected
Hello,

We call ourselves Designing Women for a Cause.  23 years ago we started doing a theme table luncheon as a fund raiser.  Over the years our event has grown, hostesses have come and gone, our venue has changed and so have the charities that we work for.   The one thing that has never changed is our passion for the work we do.

There are 12 teams that each work on a different table.  There is an overall theme for the event and then each team interprets that theme at their table.  These teams work for 364 days to provide an amazing experience for our guests.

On Friday we have a public viewing from noon-2:00 and charge $5.00 at the door.  Friday night we have a cocktail party where our guests can wander through the room viewing the tables while enjoying a glass of wine and hor d'oeuvres.  Then they are seated at these fabulous tables and served  dessert and coffee.  On Saurday we open our doors to 144 new guests who can view the tables and are then seated and enjoy a full lunch.

All of the money we raise is donated to ACAP, Adaptive Community Approach Program, located in Waukesha, WI.  ACAP has been serving adults with diabilities for over 35 years, presently serving 80+ people.  The organization's mission is to encourage adults with disabilities to achieve their highest potential and acquire life long skills which will enable them to become contributing and valued members of their communities.  In addition to community service, members are active in visual arts, performing arts, and disability awareness and advocacy.

It can be no surprise that this non profit has been hit by difficult economic times.  Our group has raised over $325,000 in the last 23 years for ACAP.  But we want to do more and are limited by logistics.  Our facility can only hold 12 tables and we can only sell 12 tickets at each table.  So, we are reaching out to you to help with sponsoring a table on either Friday night or Saturday.

All of the money we raise will be donated to ACAP, this amazing organization that works so hard to make disabled people's lives as much like yours and mine as possible.  If you or I want to go out for a pizza with our friends it's pretty simple.  I call you, we meet at a restaurant and we have a great time.  If however, you use a mechanical chair, need a van for transportaion, need to find a restaurant that is wheelchair accessible, need help getting in and out of the van, need help getting in and out of the restaurant, need help ordering, etc.--it becomes far more problematic.

Our Designing Women are asking you to open your hearts and donate to our cause.  Donate in the name of someone you know who is handicapped and deals with challenges every day that you and I never even could imagine.  Donate in the name of a parent who is raising a handicapped child and fears what may happen to that child after they can no longer care for them.  Or, donate in thanksgiving that you and your children are healthy and don't have the obstacles in their lives that ACAP works to remove every day of the year.

I thank you so much for your generosity.
