In honor of Pass & Sue Meza

Hi, our names are Rachael, Megan, and Emily, and our story begins with our father, a man who served his country for over twenty years. He never shared much about that part of his life, but even at a young age we all understood the importance of what he's done. He was a honorable man, a loving father, and the most important man in our lives. After spending after twenty five years with my mom, they purchased a house in North Carolina with the hope of starting a new life. Sadly, not even a month later due health issues he tried to keep concealed progressed, and eventually claimed his life. Emily was eleven, Megan had just turned sixteen, Rachael was nineteen.

Our mom, Sue fought to prove his death was service connected so that we could receive education benefits, just any kind of support for the future. During her battle she suffered many medical set backs, such auto immune diseases, the return of cancer in new and old places, and other various health issues. The house brought in hopes of a new future was lost, and despite how poor her health was, she sacrificed necessary medical treatments, prescriptions in order to provide and maintain somewhat of a stable household for my sisters. Never once did she stop, or take no for an answer, she always found a way to make things possible for us, much like any mother would do.

After nearly eight years of watching our mother go without to provide for us, whether it was for school, groceries or something we needed, her health conditions became worse, and eventually took her life unexpectedly Saturday, March 14th 2015

My mom kept the bad, and hard stuff to carry so that we wouldn't have to. She didn't want us to feel the burden of how hard life really is, except now we're left with no choice. My sister's and I are left with nothing but uncertainty. Rachael, the oldest has a job  that will not provide nearly close to what we need. and is planing on getting another job. Megan, is left searching for a job, while Emily's priority is to graduate high school and go to her dream college.

As of now we're uncertain of how to honor my mom's wishes to be cremated and buried beside my father, the man she loved who rests in Arlington National Cemetery. The necessity of having a place to live, food in the house and other expenses we may need are unknown at this point, we are asking for some kind of help, no matter how small of a contribution in order to get us on our feet, and help us prepare for what lies ahead. We are most appreciative of whatever you can do in order to help, whether it's donating or passing this along to someone else. Please keep us in your thoughts in prayers during this most difficult time.
