Northbridge DECA ICDC Competition

Two Northbridge High School students Kristina Morrison and Jonathan Fraser qualified to compete in the 70th International DECA Competition. They placed 1st in the State in the Sports and Entertainment Promotional Plan event.
We are among 260 Massachusetts students selected to participate in the competition, which is designed to help develop future leaders of marketing and management. It will be held in Orlando, Florida, April 24th-April 29th, and is expected to have nearly 18,000 DECA members and advisors in attendance representing all 50 states plus the District of Columbia, Canada, China, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Germany, Spain, and Guam.
Northbridge High School will also be sending five students, Logan Ciliberto, Katherine Maguire, Shayleigh O'Donnell, Logan Vierck, and Amelia Wright, to attend an extensive twelve hour leadership development academy.
DECA is the only national student organization operating through the nation’s schools to attract young people to careers in entrepreneurship, marketing, finance, hospitality, and management. Its purposes are (1) to develop a respect for education, which will contribute to occupational competencies, and (2) to promote understanding and appreciation for the responsibilities of citizenship in our free, competitive enterprise system. The purpose of the International Career Development Conference is to provide worthwhile activities to assist students in career development as they prepare to be marketing and management leaders of tomorrow.
A special feature of the conference will be the presentation of scholarships to a number of outstanding Marketing Education Students for advanced study in entrepreneurship, marketing, finance, hospitality, or management. Nationally known leaders for the fields of marketing, education, and government will speak at the conference and serve as competitive event judges.
Due to the distance we need to travel, the cost of this competition is high. We are looking for donations to help defray the costs. Any donation that you would be able to make would be greatly appreciated.
