Our goal is to create a school landscape that promotes exploratory learning, environmental stewardship and a connection for the students to their natural Appalachian heritage.
PHASE ONE:
February, 2015: Get the pond cleaned out, and remove poison ivy.
March, 2015: In conjunction with Builders Club, landscaper and students will build raised gardening beds.
April, 2015: Native pollinator plants to be planted.
May, 2015: Pond liner, pump, filter replaced. Placement of stone for waterfall. Placement of bench and creation of gardening stone for sponsors.
Costs:
Phase One: $6,000
Refurbishment of defunct pond and raised gardening beds for native pollinator plants.
Items needed include:
Pond liner, pump, filter, stone, mulch, top soil, fill dirt, gravel, plants, wood beams for raised beds, labor, bench, and garden stone for sponsors/partners
