Big Poppa Needs Your Help

I have one of the most generous and caring dads in the world. He is 78, and has recently had a fall that caused him a serious injury and big life change. His injury was severe enough that he now is learning to live with a colostomy. This is fairly challenging to learn how to deal with, but he has been a champ trying to pick it up and move on.
He is recovering well. He is a medium to high fall risk, but is taking physical therapy to help him retrain his body and his mind to help give him more stability. For the last few weeks he has needed help with his daily life, so I have stayed with him to give him that.
While staying with him, I have discovered several things he is in need of. His limited income has made it slow for him to make necessary repairs to his home. He also is generous to a fault to family and friends that need help themselves, and will often put the needs of others ahead of his own.
One thing that needs replacement is his hot water heater. Another thing is that the floor in his kitchen is very weak in several spots, and the whole thing will have to be replaced. There are also a couple of places on his roof that look like they are starting to leak, and a light fixture in his ceiling that has a crack in it too.
There have been a few other things we have already replaced or fixed for him. Because of his accident, he had a large loss of blood. His bed was ruined by this, and his sister and her daughters have very generously replaced his bed. A chair that was also damaged was replaced by his granddaughter and a friend. I have picked up several things to help him at thrift stores too.
He really is good at living on his own in general. I hope to make these repairs to his home soon so that his quality of life there is improved. He is a very simple fellow and doesn't require much at all to be happy. That is why he has let some of these things go. He is always looking out for his family, and ready to help them so his needs get pushed down his list some.
