Help Mika go to Space Camp

After a lengthy application process, Mika was awareded a partial scholarship to Space Camp in Huntsville, AL! This is quite an honor and a testament to her hard work. Unfortunately, even with the scholarship it's going to be $700 just for the tuition. This doesn't include the transporation costs to and from Space Camp.

So here's the breakdown of what the estimated cost for her to attend Space Camp:
Tuition: $700
Flight: $420 (approximately)
Shuttle from airport to camp: $25 (approximately)
Fees for GoFundMe: $90 (approximately)

While it's frustrating that it's $420 for a 1hour and 45 minute flight between Huntsville and Houston, it's a 12 hour drive each way. Two 24 hour trips is a long way for me to drive in 6 days, so Mika will be flying by herself round trip. I'm hoping someone can record the graduation ceremony at the end of camp so I can view it. 

On a cheery note, Mika has chosen the Pilot Track of the Advanced Space Camp experience. The three main sections are aeronautic design, jet aircraft simulation, and orbital mechanics. This is in addition to the microgravity experiences in the underwater training, multi-axis trainers, and 1/6 gravity chair. The camp is so STEM heavy that at the end of the week, they will earn 1 credit hour of science ed at UAHuntsville!
