Oracle and Banner Tips Web Site

Donation protected
Help me keep my web site up for all of the Oracle and Banner gurus out there at our universities.

The Project:

My web site, www.OracleTips.Guru (was www.oracletips.info) contains tips and tricks that I've learned while working with Oracle as a DBA for over 16 years, downloadable scripts that I and others have developed for maintaining Oracle databases and gleaning information about the Ellucian Banner data in those databases, and other Oracle, Banner, and UNIX information you might find useful. Some of this is Banner specific, but even those can give you ideas for similar scripts to be used with other third-party Oracle applications.

This project will pay my web site hosting fees, URL address renewals, and other expenses for the next 10 years (which will be about the same time that I retire!). I wasn't able to pay those fees the last two years, and my web site lapsed, leaving the Oracle and Banner community scratching their heads and wondering what happened to it. I don't want that to happen again for a long while. Your support will keep my web site up, hopefully for my second million visits!

Concerns:

My Oracle consulting projects are one of the sources of information that I add to my web site.  A lack of projects that I am able to get will slow these additions down considerably.

Who Am I?

I am one of the top Oracle Database Administrators in the educational field for Linux, Unix, AIX, and Solaris systems (16 years experience).  www.OracleTips.guru (which was www.oracletips.info two years ago) is my Oracle and Ellucian Banner web site for DBA's and Banner developers, which is rated in the top ten on Google and Yahoo (search for "Oracle tips") with over a million visits since 1997.

I graduated from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock with a B.S. in Computer Science and minors in Engineering and Mathematics.  I also have CAD/CAM experience through the Pulaski Technical College in North Little Rock, AR.  In total, I have had 35 years of computer programming and administration experience, including 10 years at Texas Instruments (attaining "Member of Group Technical Staff" status, their top technical designation) working on integrated circuit design software, including their I/O pad placement programs and their integrated circuit routing programs.  I am also the developer of the www.cakid.org web site ("See A Kid, not a case") for foster parents in Arkansas.

Perks For Contributing:

As a reward for contributing, you will be eligible for one hour of Oracle/Banner consulting per $90 increment contributed.
