Founder's Church Electrical Upgrade

My name is Pat Gentry and I have served as the sound and theatrical lighting technician for Founder's Church for over 15 years now. I am setting up this site to help with a special challenge Founder's is having. I am asking for support from our friends and collegues to help us preserve this important landmark.
Founder's Church of Religious Science, now a Center for Spiritual Living, was dedicated by the founder of our movement, Dr. Ernest Holmes, on January 3, 1960. The church has served as a special place for celebrating the Science of Mind for over 55 years now. Our special architechture was designed, with the input of Dr. Holmes, by Paul Williams, the renowned, African-American architect who also designed the LAX Theme Tower.
Now, after so many years of service, Founder's has a great challenge. The electrical wiring in our dome is dangerously out of date and needs to be brought up to current code. Further, we are dealing with 50 years of "make it work" repairs that now need to be done properly. We have raised about $5000 which has enabled us to start the work, but we need $9,600 more to complete it, and that puts a tremendous burden on Founder's finances.
I recently heard a news story about a church (not SOM), in nearby Riverside, CA, That burned down due to an electrical short in the attic. That hit way too close to home, and I decided to try some fundraising on my own for Founder's. Please help us if you can, anything will help. Thank you!
