Tanaka Modoc - Share Your Spare

Donation protected
Polycystic Kidney Disease has destroyed the kidneys of 45 year old, Tanaka Modoc, of Pasco WA. Tanaka is currently living without kidneys. Tanaka’s diseased kidneys were removed February 12th, 2015 to make room for a transplant; almost 16lbs of diseased kidneys removed. He and his wife, Darla Modoc, have been together 21 years. They have four children, a grandson and another grandchild on the way. Tanaka’s quality of life is greatly affected by the 5 hour dialysis treatments at the clinic every other day that are required to keep him alive. ( FYI: 5hrs day= 32 ½ days per year stuck in a chair) Tanaka is very close to transplant, he has almost 1000 days waiting time on the deceased donor kidney transplant list and also has two very special people that are ¾ of the way through the process of live donor testing to give Tanaka a kidney. Along with a live donor transplant and recovery time for both patients come many out of pocket expenses that are the responsibility of the kidney recipient, Tanaka. Tanaka and his wife will be required to stay close to the hospital for the first 30 days after transplant. The donor and their care partner will also be required to stay close to the hospital for about 2 weeks. Housing costs near the transplant hospital in Seattle WA range from $3500-$5000 per month. In addition to housing costs there will be parking fees, food and fuel expenses and lost wages for the donor. Please help ease the financial burden of these out of pocket expenses for this family if you are able. Thank you in advance and May God Bless You!!
