Fund Teaching Position in Myanmar

Thank you for your interest in the exciting opportunity which has been extended to me by our God who sends and equips the broken, and by my beloved brothers from Kachin, Myanmar.  I have been invited to serve as a guest lecturer at Kachin Theological College and Seminary (KTCS) from June to August of this year, teaching a course on systematic theology .  I will also be teaching English at the school, as well as helping out at neighboring churches in any way that I can.

It is my hope and prayer that during my three months at KTCS, I will be able to play a small role in God’s equipping of brothers and sisters in the Lord for their ministerial vocation.  I hope to learn from, and to stand in solidarity with the oppressed and marginalized Christians of Kachin State. By teaching this course in systematic theology, I hope to assist students in the essential task of finding a religious identity and voice after the pattern of Jesus Christ.  I also hope to learn more of the Kachin people’s situation, their culture, and their various ways of expressing their faith in Jesus Christ.  As one who aspires to teach theology abroad, I am excited to learn about a family in the Lord from a different culture, and about what is entailed in cross-cultural ministry.

Of the many preparations necessary for the months ahead, one of the major ones is the raising of funds.  In order to make it to Myanmar, I need to raise about $3000.  Financial assistance would be a great way for you to support this wonderful opportunity of service.  But I am also asking for much prayer and moral support, for I am convinced that apart from God’s empowerment and guidance, I have little to offer.  Once again, thank you for your willingness to join me in this work for the Lord.
